here is how i described it to a friend earlier today:

It was incredibly awesome. There were these crazy aerialists performing. The music was like dreamy, gypsyish, eastern european (almost jewish sounding?), and they were such amazing musicians. They had a tuba player who also played this enormous upright bass (female musician), and this violinist that also played accordian, drummer played trumpet. And the lead vocalist was pretty se*y too. It was a great show and I swear that place seemed sold out. The music is very romanticey sounding. The fruity side of me almost lost a tear bc the music was so pretty :)

it was a veeeeery worthwhile endeavor...

ps i have started listening to music with my eyes closed at shows, if the music is very pretty.

Last night I ran 6.3 in 57:00. It was pretty dang cold, but after about a mile I didn't feel it and my brain quieted down it's incessant overprocessing of things. Why is it that it takes so much to get brains to simmer down sometimes?

mmmmm!

life can be so exciting..

the last (roughly) 5 days i have spent doing homework, so much so that i took yesterday and today off to prepare for a midterm and to read a book, and write a paper. much love to larapoo who made today bearable by knitting on my couch, hanging out with me, and mostly making me one of the best dinners i have had recently. mmm, perhaps i will break into her and f-ykins house and steal their leftovers tonight?
on a more exciting note, i was walking down the block, and i found a pile of weave.
AAAAAND
despite some senileness of a voting poll judge, i was able to get registered, vouch for m, and do my civic duty.

can i please mention how mother f-in pissed i am that WI people overwhelmingly voted for an amendment to prevent the gays from marriage???

today was fitness-tastic. m and i ran 4 miles. then we went by the hardware store to get them to re-do her keys. the guy working gave our money back since it's the 2nd time they re-did them, then we got a cookie next door. then we went rockclimbing. now i am starving and want more cookies.

last night i went to see the dresden dolls and there was an aerialist and it was pretty awesome. i love shows at first ave. the people watching rules. yes, i am fully satisfied at this moment.
(minus cookie)

now i need to get tickets to She Wants Revenge (it's sold out and that makes me veryvery sad). and i am off to eat my second dinner,

17th-Oct-2006 11:31 am - i think i forgot to mention...
chicken wing arm

this weekend i went on a cleaning frenzy of my apartment (kitchen and bathroom). it ruled, however there was one small glitch. i was mopping the bathroom, then the kitchen. i had a rag on the side of the bucket so that i could do around the radiator bases and corners of the floor. okay, great. anyway, when i was done mopping, i poured the mop bucket water into the toilet (clean toilet) and what followed happened in slow motion but it was something like this: toilet flushed itself like they normally do when you pour lots of water into them and that being said, the washcloth (which had fallen into the bucket) went on a journey, and i don't think it will be seen again. both M and i attempted to reach into the thing to retrieve the washcloth, but no dice. it was and is gone. i am hoping it doesn't stop up the plumbing. it hasn't yet, but i am a little worried...

15th-Oct-2006 06:59 pm - marriage, running, cookies and BABIES
chicken wing arm
It's the end of a fricken' gorgeous weekend. I just logged 8 miles with M. We decided to do the frozen 1/2 marathon together, but are going to try to get in as many pre-frozen miles in as possible. So our run today entailed much dodging of others cause I think we were not the only ones around the lakes that had that same idea. Strollers, walkers, joggers, total cruisers... it was fun. Lately I have discovered I can maintain 9 minute miles (or under) without too much pain. I wouldn't have ever though that was possible when I first started training last summer.

The rest of the weekend run-down includes a friend's wedding reception... dear god I love my gay marriages. Well not technically mine, but I think you get the idea. Seriously, love is rockin', even when it's not mine :) I watched a few movies, one was like the worst I had ever seen. I was worried it may have had Sandra Oh's name on the front, just to draw in the viewers cause her role was totally minute. Hard Candy sucks. No really.. this page doesn't seem to want to do html and I don't know how because I am technologically challenged so here: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0424136/. First it was completely repulsive and second it was a precious waste of roughly 2 hours of my life. Ugh. I hate when I know I am into a bad movie, I can't stop watching it because I STILL want to know what happens.

The glory of my weekend:
Rock-climbing on Friday. L, a friend of mine from way back has much sport-activity prowess and she invited me and M to come along. It was the greatest. I intend to add that to my list of winter things to do. Not that rockclimbing is a winter activity, but gym-rockclimbing is. It was insanely fun and I got to feel like a little tree-frog when I tried bouldering. Much much much fun.
And seeing baby E, who I hadn't met until today. He is so adorable and fun. I am sure he's going to be just the coolest dude in the world since his momma is dang fantastic. I had the pleasure of brunching with said momma, 'rents and also two of my most favorite ladies in the entire world. Life is complete.

Soon so will my laundry,

xxoo

23rd-Jul-2006 12:45 pm - chockfull day
chicken wing arm
today was a very busy day. i am dogsitting for a very lovely small yellow dog that belongs to my gf. we had a really nice walk around a park today ... then i went to breakfast at the seward cafe, then to valleyfair, and i just got back from a lil show at the terminal bar. i saw desdamona who performed with this frickin' AMAZING beatboxer called carnage. it was the coolest ever. that man can do things with his mouth that sound like he is playing a horn. not to mention his beatboxing, in general, which was so flawless and had such a range you would think it was done on a computer. AMAZING. then coleman performed (in a new merman shirt) (with radford doing harmony)... then carnage was beckoned on stage and improv'd and the whole thing was quite impressive. coleman with his rockin-ey folk styles and beatbox. how could you go wrong. anyhow the frosting on the evening was 3 dudes getting out of an impala, 2 who had full-on grillz (i cannot verify the third due to he didn't open his mouffe). and i didn't even mention the killer fireworks display going on while mary and i were parking for the show. wait, i just did. now i am off, beds are calling!

I am eating lunch at work. The best lunch. I haven't been posting too much lately but I like to talk about what I am up to foodwise. I am eating my new favorite (food) thing: southwest veggie burger on toasted what sesame bread with mayo on one side and melty feta on the other.

I am eating my new favorite (food) thing: southwest veggie burger on toasted what sesame bread with mayo on one side and melty feta on the other.  And miso. Yum. I am roughly 3 days from being on vacations with my honey. And roughly 9 days from seeing elfboots again. I am infinitely happy about those two things. The end.
(ps forgot one thing PRIDE was pretty fun but i found i am getting to be an old lady who doesn't like to get 4 hours of sleep, and that after getting 4 hours of sleep i cannot down mimosas as planned)
